Erin McCloskey earned her B.F.A. in fine arts from Pratt Institute and her M.S. in special education with a concentration on learning disabilities from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her Ph.D. in literacy at the University at Albany, SUNY. Certified in literacy K-12 and special education K-12, Erin taught for over 15 years at elementary, middle and high schools in both large and small urban areas.
Erin’s Research centers on the experiences of students identified as disabled and the contexts that bring disability in and out of focus. Further, she is exploring how literacy learning can be a tool to enhance language and social interaction in children with special needs.
