Jonas Almqvist earned his B.A. in Education at Uppsala University, Sweden, where he also completed his Ph.D. in Education. He has for many years been teaching on different levels in the Swedish education system, from Compulsory School to University. Almqvist now holds a position as Senior Lecturer, Director of Studies and Deputy Head of Department at the Department of Curriculum Studies at Uppsala University. During the fall of 2008 he is a visiting scholar at Vassar College. During his visit he will study the organization and content of teacher education at Vassar College in comparison with teacher education in Sweden.
